TAILYS PONCIONE

Born in Lyon and raised in Toulouse, Tailys Poncione began classical dance at the age of 3 at the private school of Sylvie Julhia, where she trained for a decade before joining the Regional Conservatory of Dance in Toulouse.

In 2013, she joined the professional training program at VM Dance Studio, and the following year, became part of their pre-professional company, VM Ballet, performing on national stages for three years and interpreting numerous new works. Her talent and dedication led her to win several gold medals and international distinctions.

In 2017, she moved to New York as a scholarship student invited to attend classes by Igal Perry, artistic director of the Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. The following year, she joined the scholarship program at the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for two years of intensive training. She also received full scholarships for various summer programs, including with Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and The Ailey School.

Throughout her career, Tailys has performed for renowned events and institutions, including for VOGUE Magazine in collaboration with New York Fashion Week under the choreography of Danielle Polanco, the Darley Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, and the 25th Anniversary Gala of Complexions Contemporary Ballet at the Joyce Theater. She has also been part of companies such as XAOC Contemporary Ballet, Adams Company Dance, Encounters Dance, and Benjamin Briones Ballet, while collaborating with international brands such as Asus, Uniqlo, and Decathlon.

Additionally, Tailys has participated in major audiovisual productions, dancing for Cuban artist Yoyo Ibarra in the music video Quédate, and for the short film Story of a Hat by director Lesly Lynch, which won awards at the Fashion Film Festival in Chicago. She has also choreographed for a semi-finalist of the German show DAS SuperTalent and worked as a dancer and model for dance brands like Gaynor Minden, Flexistretcher, and Russian Pointe.

In 2020, she joined the European tour Rock the Ballet X to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the international company SweetBird Productions, directed by Rasta Thomas and Adrienne Canterna, performing in 35 cities in France, Switzerland, and Belgium. The following year, she danced at the Concert de Paris on July 14th on the Eiffel Tower, accompanied by world-renowned cellist Gautier Capuçon and choreographed by Sébastien Bertaud, a dancer from the Paris Opera Ballet. She then continued the Un Été en France tour with Capuçon, appeared in Amir’s La Fête music video, and took part in various advertising campaigns for Société Générale and Cookoon Paris.
